Who is Justin Hall?
Good question. I’ve been trying to answer it for thirty-three years, as of this writing. So needless to say I’ve still yet to pin-point exactly who I am. However, I am very close.
I am close to finding who I am only because the choices I have are becoming more limited each day. So thru the process of elimination I’m able to give myself some ‘tags’ that will answer the proposed question.
Tag # 1: father
Yes. I am a pater familias. I have two children and with great kids comes great responsibility, hence the biggest reason I’ve eliminated the majority of defining choices.
Tag # 2: husband
This is my second go-around with ‘marriage’. My wife is opposite to me in many ways, and I like it that way. She balances me… dare I say it, “she completes me”. She helps me understand who I am.
Tag # 3: christian
The tag almost deserves ‘tags’ of its own. “Do you mean an Evangelical Christian like they talk about on Fox news?” No. Not Evangelical, or whatever that means. If it means that I have a love for people as shown by the life of Jesus, then yes. But the answer is no if your wondering if I have an agenda based on a twisted sense of the truth. I have a relationship with God and when I die I’m going to heaven.
Tag # 4: web guru
I love the web. Web 2.0, social networking, widgets, open source, flash, b2b, google, yahoo, facebook, myspace, linkedin, youtube, godtube, flikr… the list goes on… the new inventions of our time.
Tag #5: video gamer
Games or, more or less, interactions and simulations that are engaging, provoking, and educational get the brain’s synapse to fire, make you think creatively, offer problem solving exercises, and enrich your comprehension. I would not like to exist in a world without games and puzzles. I just wish that games were not as mindlessly violent and morally demeaning.
Tag #6: artist
I almost passed on this tag. It almost begs the question, “What is an artist?” In our digital age, an artist can be many types or just one type. I don’t know if you can define the type I am. Hopefully, this blog will help me find it.
